As a volunteer for Our Global School, I worked with members of a small rural community to design and build three classrooms and the furniture to go inside. It was great to explore the ways in which the teachers and children responded to a new approach to creating more space for playing and learning by exchanging the traditional desks for boxes which could be written on, stacked away to make room and also used for play.
